Project Objective

BVJ Company was approached by Baan Engineering to take the Enovia PM Gateway prototype software developed by Baan Engineering for British Aerospace and enhance it over a three phase development and support process to accomplish the following:

Phase I - Change the Gateway to support table driven: table and item selection and user naming using Baan GUI tools. Supports Item Header, Revision, Text, Alternate Items, Bill of Materials with date effectivity over Baan IVb & c.
Phase II - Add Caching of Item and BOM information based upon revisions. Provide support for Delta mode: adding and updating of information from a particular revision. Add support for BOM Unit Effectivity.
Phase III - Add support for BOM Reference Designator Records. Add warning messages for mismatch in BOM and Reference Designator quantities. Add defaulting for selected fields: if the value sent by PM was in error and add an appropriate warning message. Also support not only the proprietary PM and Gateway Files but also add an option to support XML files. Add the sending back to PM the current Baan Reference and Item, Alternate Items and Supplier information. Support Baan IVc3 with A&D extensions.

The prime contractor was Enovia and Baan Engineering was the subcontractor. Phase I support was for both SNECMA and Detexis (formally Dassault Electronic) two customers in France. Phase II & III was to support only Dextexis requirements.
